Minor injuries in Route 202 crash

Thursday, October 26, 2017

Three people were taken to Monadnock Community Hospital with minor injuries after an accident on Route 202 in Peterborough on Tuesday.

Around 2:30 p.m., a 2005 Toyota Rav4 driven by a 17-year-old girl from Francestown heading southbound on Route 202 failed to yield to a 2011 Chevy Cruze driving by a 17-year-old girl from Greenfield while attempting a left turn onto Route 136, according to Ernie Belletete, a Peterborough Police Department captain.

The Francestown girl was taken by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital with unknown, but minor injuries. A passenger in the Cruze, who police could not identify, also suffered minor injuries. The names of the minors are being withheld per Ledger-Transcript policy as there are currently no charges or offenses involved. The accident is still under investigation, Belletete said.

Route 202 was reduced to one lane for about an hour while crews cleaned up glass from the road and  towed the vehicles away.
