Conant didn’t see Campbell stud pitcher Griffin St. Onge on Friday; instead, they got a taste of the Cougars’ depth, as the Orioles were shut out by No. 2 starter Matt Gagne. Gagne struck out 12 over seven innings and allowed just four hits in the win.

Conant ace James Record struck out four and allowed just one earned run in the loss.

The Orioles had just three runners in scoring position for the entirety of the game; two of those were Aiden Kirby, who was 1-2 with a double and a walk.

On Saturday, the Orioles bounced back with a 10-2 win over Kearsarge.

Troy Aho pitched 4.1 innings for the win, striking out three and giving up two earned runs.

Caleb Donahue and Chance Kirby each went 1-2 with two RBI; Gavin Motuzas was 2-3 with two runs scored.

Conant (4-1) hosts Monadnock (5-1) today at 4 p.m.
