Locals in action at State Am tourney

The New Hampshire Golf Association State Amateur Golf Championship is taking place at Bretwood Golf Club in Keene all week, with the final round on Saturday. Here’s a list of locals competing; see more coverage in Thursday’s Ledger-Transcript Sports section.

  Michael Martel – Nashua Country Club

Martel is a Mascenic graduate who won the State Am title in 2013. Last year, he was knocked out in round of 64 by AJ Correia of Laconia.

Cameron Salo – Bretwood

Salo made it to the quarterfinal round last year and was knocked out by eventual champ Chris Houston of Laconia.

James Kinnunen – The Shattuck

Kinnunen, of The Shattuck, was also knocked out by Houston last year. Kinnunen went down in the round of 64.

Jake Hollander – The Shattuck

Hollander, a ConVal grad, was second in the NHIAA tournament in 2014.

Roman Ojala – The Shattuck

Ojala, who plays golf at Bethel College, was the 2012 NHIAA state champion for Mascenic.

Bryce Salo – Crotched Mountain

Salo went out in the round of 64 last year.

Mack Seppela – The Shattuck

Jalen Rines – The Shattuck
