The Mascenic cheerleading team will move on to the state championships on Sunday after winning the Division IV meet over the weekend.

Coach Amy Billings’ squad was shorthanded all season due to injury but was able to rally for a first-place finish with 80.7 points, topping Epping’s 77.1.

“It’s actually pretty incredible to have pulled something together good enough for first place!” Billings said of her injury-plagued team.

The win marked the Vikings’ third straight Division IV championship. Mascenic will face the best New Hampshire has to offer at the state championships at Pinkerton Academy Sunday, starting at 11 a.m.

“These girls believe in me as much as I believe in them, which then makes us unstoppable,” Billings said.
