Body found in Peterborough parking lot investigated as suicide

Thursday, May 31, 2018

Peterborough police are investigating an untimely death after finding a body in a vehicle parked at the Monadnock Shopping Plaza Thursday night.

Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard said police are investigating the death as a suicide and are waiting for the autopsy results from the state medical examiner.

Police found the body of a 34-year-old Peterborough man in a vehicle around 7:50 p.m. Thursday night.

Guinard said while the plaza was busy at that time, the body was found by police, not the public, and police were able to keep the public from viewing the body.

Police contacted the medical examiner, who responded to the scene. Jellison Funeral Home removed the body, and the vehicle was towed away. According to police, nothing was found to be suspicious.
