Animaterra to kick off season

Thursday, September 07, 2017

Animaterra will be starting its fall season with two “New Members Teas” for new and returning members. The teas begin at 6:30 and are followed by rehearsals on Sept. 12 and 19. They will be held at the First Baptist Church in Keene.

Animaterra is open to all women who love to sing. No auditions are necessary. Music is learned primarily by ear and rehearsals are a combination of music, community and fun. The music blends traditional songs from around the world with other spirited and soulful songs. This fall’s theme, “Sing, My Sister,” focuses on friendship and sisterhood.

Animaterra will give two concerts this year, on Dec. 9 in Keene and Dec. 10 in Peterborough.

Animaterrra was founded 21 years ago by Alison Aldrich Smith and is now in its second year with new artistic director Becky Graber, who also directs the Brattleboro Women’s Chorus.
