Alice (Bradley) Bryan

New Ipswich resident, 91, a nurse

NEW IPSWICH — Alice (Bradley) Bryan, 91, of New Ipswich died March 5, 2010.

She was born in Garden Plain, Kan., on Dec. 12, 1918. She was raised in Wichita, Kan.

In 1941 she received her BA RN in nursing. In that same year, she married Everett Lee Brookshire, who died later that year.

In 1946, she moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she taught and practiced OB nursing at Grant Hospital. In 1955 she moved to Sandusky, Ohio, and worked for a doctor in private family practice. In 1978, Alice moved to New Ipswich.

She will be remembered as a warm and caring person with a welcoming smile.

Family members include a son, Frank Brookshire, and his wife, Linda, of Mont Vernon; two step-grandchildren, Sam and Ari Taylor, of Mont Vernon; two grandsons, Kyle Brookshire and his wife, Nicole, of Belmont, Mass., and Seth Brookshire of San Francisco; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Chole Brookshire of Belmont, Mass.; a brother, Ray Bradley, and his wife, Pat, of North Carolina; two sisters, Ruth Bradley Smith, and her husband, Harley, of Texas, and Dorothy Bradley Cmela, of California; a sister- in-law, Patricia Bradley, of Wichita, and a former daughter-in-law, Lynne Brookshire Stone of Wilton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Everett Brookshire, in 1941, and her second husband, Thomas Bryan, in 2007.

There are no calling hours or services at this time. Please refer to www.lambertfuneralhome.com for additional information regarding a memorial Mass that is being planned.

Memorial donations may be made in Alice’s name to the Sacred Heart Church, 15 High St., Greenville 03048.

Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, is handling arrangements.
