DUBLIN — Barbara H. Naylor, 72, of Dublin died at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, after a sudden illness.
She was born in Gardner, Mass., on Nov. 16, 1937, daughter of the late Robert and Hendryka (Kosakowski) Flagg. Barbara had received her education in Gardner and after marrying her husband, had lived in Dublin for over 54 years.
Barbara had worked as an inspector at N.H. Ball Bearings Co. in Peterborough for over 30 years prior to her retirement. She and her husband also owned and operated Naylor’s Snack Bar in Dublin for many years.
After retirement, Barbara was able to devote her time to her beloved children and grandchildren, and to her hobbies of sewing and craft work. Barbara loved to sew and was able to keep three different sewing machines very busy.
She will always be remembered for her handmade Gnomes, which are popular across the country. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and her occasional trips to Foxwoods.
Barbara was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Chester Flagg.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas C. Naylor Jr. of Dublin; her eight children, Peter Naylor of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Randy Naylor of Bedford, Brad Naylor of Gardner, Mass., Sandra Cole of Keene, Patty Venning of Greenfield, John Naylor of Dublin, Scott Naylor of Greenfield and Cherina Cohen of Amherst; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Norbutus of Athol, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Monday, Dec. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cournoyer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 33 River St. (Route 202), Jaffrey.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick Church, 89 Main St., Jaffrey.
The Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, pastor of Saint Patrick Church will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Peterborough in the spring.
