RINDGE — Christopher A. Asaff, 41, of Rindge, died suddenly at home on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010.
Chris was born on April 30, 1968, in Waterville, Maine, son of Wade and Linda (French) Asaff.
He was a 1987 graduate of Bromfield High School in Harvard, Mass.
Chris was a self-employed contractor consultant who possessed the many necessary talents needed to design buildings and create what he had designed. He could build anything and will be fondly remembered for mastering any technique or tool he tried. Through the years, Chris had owned and operated Danewood Construction, Boss Inc. and CA Solutions.
Chris was not able to serve in the military, but every time he met a veteran, particularly a Vietnam veteran, he would thank them personally. When asked why he always thanked the Vietnam veterans, his only answer was because no one else did.
Chris was an intense and focused person, but as hard as he appeared to be on the outside, he was always very sensitive to other people’s needs.
He was never a taker, instead, he was always a giver and never hesitated to help anyone whose needs were greater than his own.
He will always be remembered for creating a nickname for each person who entered his life and became special to him.
Chris is survived by his father of Rindge, and his mother of Spring Hill, Fla. He is also survived by the love of his life and wife of 16 years, Michelle (Poland) Asaff; his two daughters, Samantha and Alexis Asaff, and two stepdaughters, Jessica and Mickela Meaney, all of Rindge; his stepson, Nicholas Poland of Jaffrey; his brothers, Alex and Ben Asaff, both of Rindge; his niece, Allison, and two nephews, Curtis and Brendan Asaff, all of Rindge; many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless close friends.
Family and friends are warmly invited to join together and celebrate Chris’s life on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River St. (Route 202), Jaffrey.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making monetary donations in Chris’s memory to help support his children’s future education expenses at TD Bank, c/o Shari Fish, 497 Route 202, Rindge 03461.
