Daniel T. Geoffrey

Peterborough man was auto repairman and veteran

LACONIA — Daniel T. Geoffrey, 69, died at Laconia Rehabilitation Center on Jan. 3, 2012.

Mr. Geoffrey was born in Peterborough on Jan. 29, 1942, the son of Katherine (Moriarty) and George Geoffrey. Daniel Geoffrey moved to Jaffrey and then Keene.

Mr. Geoffrey attended Peterborough High School. In his youth he was an altar boy. After high school he worked for OB Pierce Company and Derby’s Department store. He was an auto body repairman for local shops as well. He was the resident manager for Pheasant Glenn Apartments in Peterborough for several years. Mr. Geoffrey was a member of the National Guard 172nd Field Artillery, where we served on active duty at Fort Bragg, N.C. during the Cuban missile crisis in 1961.

Mr. Geoffrey’s hobbies included playing his guitar, listening to music, old cars, lifting weights, visiting Hampton Beach and spending time with his family.

He was also very proud of his Chevrolet customized pickup truck.

He is survived by his companion, Regina Borden of Vermont, a daughter, Tammy Geoffrey of Laconia, a son, Daniel Geoffrey and his wife, Trisha, both of Belmont, a brother, David Geoffrey and his wife, Alice, both of Peterborough, a sister, Maureen Hadley and her husband, Dana, both of Bristol and three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Jan. 7, 2012, at St. Peter’s Church of Divine Mercy Parish, Peterborough, with Reverend Gerald Belanger as Celebrant. Burial with full military honors followed in St. Peter Cemetery.
