H. Peet Rapp

Engineer and Red Sox fan was former selectman

H. Peet Rapp, formerly of Sharon, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 28 in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 58 years old.

Born in Batavia, N.Y. on Feb. 3, 1953 to Robert A. Rapp and Jean (Peet) Rapp, Mr. Rapp graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in controls engineering and went on to the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his MBA in 1979.

Mr. Rapp relocated to the Monadnock region with his family in 1996 working for several local and Boston-area IT consulting firms. In recent months, Mr. Rapp relocated to Jacksonville, Fla., to pursue a career opportunity and to be closer to his mother. Mr. Rapp served as a Select Board member of Sharon for several years and loved sailing and watching the Boston Red Sox.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Rapp of Beaufort, S.C., his brothers, Paul Rapp of Housatonic, Mass. and Charles Bisom-Rapp of Del Mar, Calif., his daughter, Emily Rapp of Peterborough, and his former wife, Tina Rapp of Peterborough.

Calling hours will be held at the Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord St., Peterborough, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire, 109 North State Street, Suite 2, Concord, 03301. Jellison Funeral Home, Peterborough is assisting the family with arrangements.
