ANTRIM — Janet Scott Rix, 65, of 65 Old Hancock Road, Antrim, died Aug. 16, 2010, at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough.
She was born in Hartford, Conn., on Aug. 7, 1945, the daughter of Mildred Creighton and Ward W. Scott. She moved to Peterborough in September of 2000, and prior to that lived in East Hampton, Conn.
Mrs. Rix graduated from the Wilcox School of Nursing in Middlebury, Conn. She then worked as the director of nursing at a convalescent home in Connecticut for 11 years.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Rix was a registered nurse for the East Hampton school system.
Mrs. Rix enjoyed fishing and gardening. Among family and friends she was known for her love of teddy bears, which she both created herself and collected over her lifetime.
She is survived by her son, David Rix of Antrim, and her cousin, Peter Tilton Sr. of Hampton. Mrs. Rix was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Rix.
A graveside service will be held in honor of Mrs. Rix at Maplewood Cemetery in Antrim on Aug. 25 at 11 a.m.
