Jeffrey A. Brooks

GREENFIELD — Jeffrey A Brooks, 61, of Greenfield died July 7, 2010, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Born in Springfield, Vt., he moved to Greenfield 60 years ago.

He was the son of the late Paul F. and Wyona (Weeden) Brooks, and was also predeceased by a brother, Monte Brooks.

Jeffrey graduated from Ridgefield High School in Connecticut. He worked for Keene State College in the food court for more than 15 years before his retirement in 2007.

Jeffrey was a member of the N.H. Giant Pumpkin Growers Association, where he was a renowned great giant pumpkin grower.

He is survived by his wife, Mary S. (Meyers) Brooks, of Greenfield; two brothers, Harlan Brooks and his wife, Sharon, of Virginia and Tim Brooks and his wife, Tracy, of North Carolina; three sisters, Lorraine Lanigan and her husband, Ed, of Maine, Carolyn Fortson and her husband, Tim, of Alabama, and Diana Smith of Alabama; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Greenvale Cemetery, Greenfield.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the NHGPGA, c/o Terry Golding, 6 South Mast St. Goffstown 03045.

The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Hillsborough is in charge of arrangements.
