GREENVILLE — Mary A. Allard, 89, died Aug. 19, 2010, at UMass Memorial Center, Worcester, as a result from complications to injuries sustained in an automobile accident a week earlier.
She was born in Wheaton, Minn., on July 9, 1921, the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Buhr) Forcier. She was raised in Wheaton, and lived in California, Massachusetts, Vermont, before living for 46 years in New Ipswich and the past five years in Greenville.
She was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, having served from 1941 to 1946.
She had been employed at Millipore Corp. of Jaffrey for many years.
She was a member of Mascenic Valley Senior Citizens. She held several offices at various times while a member. She was also a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Greenville. She enjoyed bowling and caring for others, especially her family and grandchildren.
She was pre deceased by her husband, James Allard, in 1978, a daughter, Debra Allard, in 1982, and a son, Paul Allard, in 2003.
She is survived by three sons, Richard J. Allard of Bastrop, Texas, William F. Allard of Lebanon, Ore., and Peter Allard of Beverly, Mass.; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was the last of 12 in her family.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fournier Funeral Home, 12 High Street, Greenville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 26, at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 15 High Street, Greenville. After cremation, burial will be in Lyndon Center Cemetery, Lyndon, Vt.
