Mary M. Proctor

Peterborough resident a clerk at Jordan Marsh

PETERBOROUGH — Mary M. Proctor, 89, of Peterborough died Dec. 1, 2009, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.

She was born in Clinton, Mass., on Sept. 11, 1920, a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Mabel G. (Lincoln) McCaffrey.

Mrs. Proctor resided in Peterborough for the past eight years and formerly lived in Milford for more than 50 years.

She had been employed as a retail clerk for the former Jordan Marsh Company in Bedford.

Mrs. Proctor was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Milford, and a member of the church choir and Catholic Women’s Club.

She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother and cherished time spent with her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ray A. Proctor and their daughter, Mary Gail Proctor, two brothers, Joseph McCaffrey and William McCaffrey.

Family members include two sons, Jonathan Proctor of Keene and Stephen Proctor of Wilton; five daughters, Martha Lamminen of The Villages, Fla., Jane Bowman of Peterborough, Patricia Kelly and Dawn Moore, both of Milford, and Marjorie Quinlan of Antrim; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Helen Goodwin of Texas; many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 34 Amherst St., Milford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
