JAFFREY — Pauline M. Fournier, 87, formerly of Hillcrest Road in Jaffrey, died July 28, 2010, at the Westwood Heath Care in Keene.
She was born April 12, 1923, in Jaffrey, the daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Jalbert) Caron.
Mrs. Fournier had attended Jaffrey schools and has been a lifelong resident of this community.
Mrs. Fournier was a former employee of the American Guernsey Cattle Club in Peterborough and had retired from D.D. Bean and Sons Company in Jaffrey at the age of 62 following many years of employment.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Jaffrey and she had been a member of the John Humiston Post No. 11 American Legion Auxiliary for more than 67 years.
She loved to travel. She especially enjoyed her trip to Hawaii as well as her many trips to Canada and Florida.
Her husband of 61 years, Bertrand “Bert” Fournier, died April 16, 2006.
Family includes a sister, Yvonne C. Davis, and a brother, Ernest G. Caron, both of Jaffrey and several nieces and nephews, especially Janet LaCroix, who looked after her since the death of Mrs. Fournier’s husband.
Calling hours will be today from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street (Route 202) in Jaffrey.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon on Monday at St. Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey. The Rev. Wilfred H. Deschamps, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Jaffrey.
