Former Peterborough resident a ConVal grad

HONOLULU, Hawaii — Robert Allen Clark, 57, died unexpectedly on Dec. 24, 2009, in his home in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He was formerly from Peterborough, son of Melvin G. Clark and Carol Stone Clark (both deceased).

He was born Oct. 22, 1952, in Goffstown.

He graduated from ConVal High School, 1971, and graduated as an architectural engineering tech at Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1973.

Later he served in the military and then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii West, 1992.

He became a certified scuba divemaster and started his own business, Clark’s Dive Academy/Tours on the island of Oahu.

His is survived by his brothers Bernard P. Clark of Bremerton, Wash., and Melvin S. Clark of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Shirley Sawtelle, and her husband, Ken, of New Ipswich; a nephew, Ken Sawtelle of Rindge; a niece, Angela Sheasley, and a grandniece, Julia Grace, of Keene, as well as an aunt, two uncles and many cousins.

He had a big heart and a warm smile.
