DOVER — Stephen Myrick, 64, of East Concord St. died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
He was born Oct. 16, 1945, in Auburn, Maine, the son of Arthur and Virginia (Burgess), graduated from Edward Little High School in Maine and had lived in Dover since 1970.
His honesty, compassion and thoughtfulness have been an inspiration to his family and friends.
Steve was active in Special Olympics with his son, Ben, for many years.
Members of his family include his wife, Deborah (Sterling) Myrick of Dover and formerly of Peterborough; his daughter, Karen Walker, and her husband, Bill, of Manchester; his son, Benjamin Myrick of Dover; three stepchildren, Jessica Walker and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Maine, Philip Oliver and his wife, Keil, of Huntsville, Ala., and Rebekah Brown and her husband, Jeff, of Huntsville, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Cynthia, Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Kaitlin, Jeremy and Riley; two great-grandsons, Anthony and Aidan; his brothers and sisters, Harry Myrick of Auburn, Maine, Bruce Myrick of Auburn, Harold Myrick of Brunswick, Maine, Sharon Rafnel of Topsham, Maine, Dennis Myrick of Auburn and Carol Randall of Auburn; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours were Sunday at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover.
The funeral service was at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Spring in Oak Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
