Sylvia Tansey

Nevada woman leaves sister in Antrim

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Sylvia Tansey, 65, of Las Vegas died Dec. 7, 2009.

She was born in Concord on Jan. 22, 1944, daughter of the late Madalene Futch and John Gould. She attended schools in New Hampshire, graduating from Antrim High School in 1962. She graduated from Hesser College in Manchester in 1963.

She met and married her husband, Ronald (the love of her life), and lived in Peterborough for a short time followed by residences in Masschusetts, New York, Washington and finally retiring in Nevada.

Sylvia was a homemaker and loving mother. She wrote poetry, loved crossword puzzles, learned calligraphy and sent out Christmas poems every year.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ron, and her brother, Richard Gould.

Family members include a daughter, Lisa Savino of Manorville, N.Y., and a son, John (Tony) Tansey of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandsons Michael and Nicholas; a sister, Ella Kemp of Antrim; two uncles and an aunt as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held in Nevada.

The family requests donations be made to the American Humane Society.
