BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — Ginny Boudrieau, 84, of Bellows Falls died June 26 at Keene Center Genesis Eldercare after a brief period of declining health.
She was born on March 26, 1926, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Alan and Grace Whitney. She grew up in the Keene area and attended Keene schools.
Over the course of her life, Mrs. Boudrieau worked for Nonies in Peterborough as a waitress and also at Wayne Green Publishing in Peterborough as their bulk sales manager. Her favorite and longest career was as a day-care service provider, which she did for 23 years until she turned 82.
On April 14, 1944, she married Thomas A. Boudrieau Jr. in Keene.
GiGi (as she was known to all of the children in her life) had an immense lifelong love for children and infants. They were her joy and passion and she kept in touch with all of “her” children as they grew up. She will be sorely missed by all of them and their families.
She is survived by her two sons Drew Boudrieau and his wife, Barbara, of Westmoreland and Tim Boudrieau and his wife, Claire, of Jaffrey; daughter Debra Boudrieau of Bellows Falls, Vt.; four brothers, Leonard Whitney of North Grafton, Mass., Hollis Whitney of Keene, Maurice Whitney of Marlborough and Donnie Whitney of Buena Vista, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boudrieau’s husband, Thomas, and sister, Marion Derosia, died earlier.
Services for Mrs. Boudrieau will be on July 18 from 1 to 4 p.m., with formal reminiscences starting at 1:15 p.m., at the Elks Club, 81 Roxbury St., Keene. Friends are invited.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ginny Boudrieau’s name to The Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, D.C. 20090-6231 or www.smiletrain.org.
