‘Beyond Therapy’ opens Friday

Milford Area Players will present a production of “Beyond Therapy,” a comedy by Christopher Durang, at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts opening Friday.

Bruce and Prudence are deeply into therapy. Prudence’s macho therapist is urging her to be more assertive while Bruce’s wacky female therapist wants him to meet women by placing a personal ad. She does not fully comprehend that Bruce has a male lover who is not pleased by Bruce’s desire to date a woman: Prudence. Eventually, Bruce and Prudence learn to live beyond therapy in this off-Broadway hit that moved successfully to Broadway.

Performances will be held March 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 8 p.m., and March 22 and 29, at 2 p.m.
