White is the color in new SAC exhibit
Artist Rosemary Conroy will present her version of “The White Album” in a show at the Sharon Arts Center opening Aug. 1.
An exhibit of original acrylic paintings that together form a travelogue of the artist’s recent expeditions, Conroy plans to feature the many species of white animals she’s encountered in her travels, using her signature expressionist style to depict the many hues found in something as seemingly simple as white.
An opening reception will be held Friday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Conroy came to art after two previous careers and was inspired to fulfill her lifelong dream of painting full-time after watching her former office building collapse on 9/11. Largely self-taught, she has enjoyed ever-increasing success as an artist.
Conroy earned a BBA from Pace University and an MS in environmental studies from Antioch University New England. Her art has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions and solo exhibitions across New England, and many of her pieces are housed in permanent collections in the U.S. and Canada.
Gallery hours are Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
