Tango highlights First Friday at Mariposa, Peterborough

Feel the Temptation to Tango, a lecture and performance, will be featured for First Friday at the Mariposa Museum on Friday.

Dancers Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo will perform and talk about the tango at 7 p.m., followed by a brief lesson for interested attendees. From 9-11:30 p.m. they will host a milonga (tango party) with Mariposa tango instructor Randy Avis.

The lecture, performance and lesson are free; the milonga is $10 per person.

First Friday will begin at 5 p.m. with KidCraft featuring pop-ups, followed by a gallery reception from 6-7 p.m. to celebrate the continuing textile exhibition: “The Kopanang Creation Canticle.”
