Marathon read of ‘Fahrenheit 451,’ May 11

The Edge Ensemble will host a Marathon Readers Theatre of Ray Bradbury’s dystopian novel, “Fahrenheit 451,” at Heberton Hall on May 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Designed to promote a full appreciation of great works of literature, a marathon read is a full, oral presentation of a literary work, from start to finish. The Edge is working with students and teachers from area high schools and middle schools, community members, and its own ensemble performers to present this 1953 novel.

The themes Bradbury explored and the format of a marathon read coincide with The Edge’s goal to promote poet Wendell Berry’s maxim: “Live a three-dimensional life. Communicate slowly. Avoid screens.”
