Panel to discuss court-press tensions
Keene State College’s Department of Journalism presents its fourth annual “Got Rights?” public event as part of Constitution Day tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Alumni Center’s Centennial Hall.
This year’s Constitutional issues concern Fair Trial vs. Free Press tensions between the First Amendment’s various freedoms of press, speech, religion and assembly with the Sixth Amendment’s protections to a speedy, fair and public trial, along with due process regarding legal charges, witnesses and evidence.
The event is free, open to the public and is co-sponsored with KSC-American Democracy Project. All attendees will receive their own pocket copy of the U.S. Constitution. For further information, contact, Dr. Rose Kundanis, Chair, Journalism Department, 603-358-2404.
