Eskin presents classical and ragtime concert

Pianist Virginia Eskin will perform a concert of classical and ragtime music at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture on Grove Street in Peterborough on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Eskin, a performer, teacher, and recording artist, has appeared on stages throughout the United States and Europe and regularly lectures at Boston University, Keene State College, Harvard, Northeastern, and many other universities.

She has long been an advocate for the works of women composers, and this performance will include a discussion of her combined book/CD project: “Girl Genius: The Early Life of Amy Cheney Beach.” Joining Eskin for this part of the program will be author Jane Eklund.

This will be the final concert for the 2013 Music in Bass Hall Concert series.

Tickets are $15 and $12 for members, seniors and students. Tickets can be ordered online at, by phone or at the door.
