ConVal students compete in poetry reciting competition

World Language students from ConVal High School traveled to Hanover High School on Dec. 10 to compete in the 53rd annual Poetry Recitation Contest.

Students are required to memorize two poems in the target language, one of which is required for all students in that level. The second poem is the student's choice.

Forty-five students competed for ConVal and the following students came home with awards: First place Spanish level 1: Astrid Kipka; First place French level 1: Alyssa Hill.; First place German level 1: Taryn Wing; Third place German level 2: Genna Weidner; First place German level 2: Thayer Taft; and First place German level 4: Arianna Zrzavy.
