Obituary: Ronald Ernest Paquette, Sr.,
Ronald Ernest Paquette, Sr., beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away on February 7, 2013 at Monadnock Community Hospital after a long struggle with COPD.
A son of the late Lawrence and Rose (Patenaude) Paquette, he was born in Hancock on November 22, 1934, where he lived and worked on his family’s Moose Brook Farm until he enlisted in the Air Force in 1952. He later worked as a seven color pressman at Bemis Bag Co., in Pepperrell, MA for over 15 years. He moved back to Hancock in 1974 to work for Monadnock Paper Mill in Bennington, where he worked for 25 years, retiring in 2000.
“Ronnie” enjoyed many activities including fishing, camping, clamming, gardening, and raising animals. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Martin) Paquette of Hancock, a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Linda Paquette, Jr., of Hancock, and a daughter and son-in-law, Lenore and Michael Smith, of Brentwood. He also leaves behind two brothers, Lawrence Paquette of Easthampton, MA and Francis Paquette of Hancock, and a sister, Barbara LaFrance, of Nashua. Four grandchildren, Georgette and Jeremiah Paquette, and Acadia and Boden Smith were blessed to have known him, as well as his only great-grandchild, Eliza Paquette.
A memorial celebration of his life will take place at his home this coming spring. Many will always remember Ronnie for his bright blue eyes and happy smile.
