Evan Whitehead — Rebecca Seidel
Rebecca Seidel, daughter of David and Kathleen Seidel of Peterborough, and Evan Whitehead, son of Jeff and Ann Whitehead of Landaff, were married Sept. 22, 2013 under the grandfather clock in the Reference Room of the Peterborough Town Library with Justice of the Peace Rachel Green of Manchester officiating.
Man of honor was Michael McPherson of Portland, Maine, and best man was Lukas Farabee of Daphne, Ala.
The bride is a graduate of Conval High School, and earned a master’s degree in library science from Simmons College in 2012, following in the footsteps of her mother (MLS, Columbia University, 1978) and paternal grandmother (MLS, SUNY Geneseo, 1978).
The groom is a graduate of Gilford High School.
The couple met while students at the University of Maine, Farmington, from which they graduated in 2009.
A reception was held at the Monadnock Country Club, where toasts were raised not only to the bride and groom, but also to the autumnal equinox, which occurred at 4:44 p.m. The groom’s sister, Kristen Svihlik of Hilton Head, S.C., created the wedding cake in the shape of a stack of books, and crafted the bride’s origami bouquet from the pages of Neil Gaiman’s classic fantasy novel, “Stardust.”
The couple are residing in Milford.
