Program offers help with taxes
The AARP Tax-Aide program will again be providing free tax preparation and e-filing assistance for low- and moderate-income taxpayers in the Monadnock region starting on Feb. 1.
The help is available to people regardless of age, with special attention given to those over age 60. AARP membership is not required.
People should bring all W-2s, 1099s and other information about their taxes, plus last year’s tax return, a Social Security card for each dependent and identifying documents for themselves. A picture ID is also needed.
The assistance will be provided at the following local sites:
∎ Keene Senior Center: Mondays from 12:30 to 4 p.m. starting Feb. 4. Call 352-5037 for an appointment.
∎ Keene Public Library: Tuesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. starting Feb. 5.
∎ Jaffrey TD Bank: Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. starting Feb. 7.
∎ New Ipswich Public Library: Wednesdays from 2:30 to 6 p.m. starting Feb. 6. Call 878-4644 for an appointment.
