Fitness studio opens in Jaffrey
Sheilla Parkerson, owner of QueViva Fitness, opened the doors of her new fitness studio at 82 Fitzgerald Dr., Unit 3C, in Jaffrey.
Parkerson was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States at the age of eleven. She remembers working out with her mother at a young age and thinking, “Someday, I would like to help people be healthy and strong.” Fostering that desire, she achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts and has been working in the fitness industry since 1998 as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and fitness center manager. Founding QueViva has been a lifelong dream of hers.
Parkerson started classes independently in December 2010, renting available spaces throughout the Jaffrey community. Her ultimate goal is to someday own a full-service fitness center. QueViva Fitness specializes in programs for children, active older adults and beginners, and the avid exerciser. QueViva also offers personal training, and the staff is available for fundraisers and high-energy, kid-friendly birthday parties. They offer a full schedule of classes. The new weekly class schedule includes Zumba fitness, Zumba toning, low-impact Zumba Gold, Zumba for kids, a new Zumbini for ages zero to three years old, Mat Flow, Yoga, Turbo Kick, a Low-impact Tone and Core class and Zumba Sentao. And, coming soon to the QueViva schedule, Zumba Step. The full QueViva Fitness studio schedule and rates can be seen at www.QueVivaFitness.com.
