New trustees join Monadnock Music

Monadnock Music’s Board of Trustees welcomed two new members at it’s Annual Meeting on June 24 at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture in Peterborough.

New Trustee William Fregosi of Raymond designed scenery and lights for theater, opera, television and special events in Boston for over 50 years. For 32 of them, Fregosi was designer and technical coordinator for Theater Arts at M.I.T. He is co-librettist for two operas that were premiered in Boston, and has spoken on aspects of opera across the U.S.

New Trustee Richard Mercier of Wilton joins the Board with a lifetime appreciation of classical music. Mercier’s professional career has been in education, where he spent the greater part of his teaching experience with a private, college-preparatory school in New York City. “Music is our primary language and I feel that the spoken word came later,” says Mercier. “I am pleased to share this appreciation of music with so many people whom I have come to meet in Hillsborough County.”

Founded in 1966, Monadnock Music offers diverse classical programming throughout the Monadnock region. Monadnock Music provides music education support to elementary schools through its Lend an Ear! program. Monadnock Music’s 49th Season opened Saturday. For more information, see
