New director joins Arts Alive org.
Jessica Gelter of Brattleboro, Vt., has joined Arts Alive as its new executive director, replacing Kate Dean, who has held the position for two years.
Gelter joins to Arts Alive as an experienced leader in arts organizations across the river in Vermont, with five years of professional marketing experience specifically for nonprofits in the New England region. The Arts Alive mission is to enhance quality of life by advancing arts and culture in the Monadnock region.
“We believe Jessica Gelter brings the skills, experience and energy that will sustain and grow our efforts,” says Carl Jacobs, chair of Arts Alive’s Board of Directors. Arts Alive works to facilitate communication among arts organizations and with the larger community.
A Choral Alliance provides a link among the many choral groups for scheduling and mutual support. Arts Alive also hosts an artist-to-artist group facilitates skill and knowledge sharing. As a fiscal agent, Arts Alive has facilitated bringing the Monadnock International Film Festival into being and sustaining Art Walk.
This month, Arts Alive presented Discover Monadnock to the community. Discover Monadnock is a web project and collaboration between Arts Alive and Monadnock Travel Council, to brand the Monadnock region as a destination for arts and culture, nature, heritage and spirit.
“I look forward to developing relationships across the region with artists, businesses and other organizations and individuals that value being a part of this culturally rich area,” says Gelter.
