Monadnock Food wins startup award
Among hundreds of startup co-ops across the country, the Monadnock Food Co-op received the Startup Co-op of the Year Award from the Food Co-op Initiative. This award recognizes excellence in leadership, strength of community support and success in opening a retail food cooperative.
“Monadnock Food Co-op is a role model for how an organized community can work together to meet their own needs, create a cooperative business, a community asset and inspiration for others,” said Stuart Reid, the Food Co-op Initiative’s executive director.
“Although our work has just begun — building a local, sustainable food system — we are thrilled to receive this award recognizing all the amazing efforts that went into starting our project,” said Michael Faber, general manager of Monadnock Food.
