A Journey Through Jazz at RiverMeadRiverMead Performing Arts Committee will host a concert on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2:30 PM in the RiverMead Auditorium.The Journey Through Jazz all star jazz band will present a program of popular swing and jazz music of the 1930?s and the 1940?s. Familiar tunes from the American Song Book, including many requested by RiverMead residents, will be presented. The Journey Through Jazz Band features some of America?s greatest jazz musicians including, Bob Gallo, Jeff Galindo, Steve Dale, Mark Carlen, Les Harris, Dave Whitney as the featured guest artist and leader Chuck Stevenson. The concert is open to the public and free of charge.

Artifacts and folk art from the vibrant indigenous cultures of North, Central and South America, among them the Inuit of northern Canada and Alaska, the Hopi of the southwestern US, the Mayan peoples of Guatemala and Mexico and the Quechua of the Andes, will be exhibited throughout the museum. Featured will be ceremonial objects, kachina dolls, textiles and clothing, musical instruments, ceramics and cradleboards loaned by local collectors and from the museum's permanent collection.
