Accident: At 9:50 a.m., Officer Christopher LaBrecque received a report from a Jaffrey resident regarding a hit-and-run accident that happened to a vehicle being driven by her 17-year old son. He had driven the vehicle to work at McDonald’s the evening before and came home. In the morning, he drove the vehicle to school not noticing any damage. When he got out of school later that morning, he noticed a significant dent in the passenger corner of the rear bumper, with reddish transfer paint.
Saturday, Jan. 25
Arrest: At 1:02 a.m., Officer Jeremy LeBlanc stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Bryan Eddy, 20, of Fitzwilliam, for an alleged motor vehicle violation. While speaking to Eddy, LeBlanc noticed an open can of beer in the vehicle and an odor of alcohol coming from the driver. Eddy denied drinking and submitted to a field sobriety test. Eddy was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI and transportation of alcohol by a minor. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail with a Feb. 6 court date in the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.
Arrest: At 8:13 p.m., while on patrol LaBrecque witnessed a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup truck swerving back and forth on River Street. The truck left the roadway, drove over a front lawn and came to rest in the driveway of a residence. LaBrecque stopped and made contact with the driver, Kristopher J. Powers, 25, of Jaffrey, and a passenger. Powers stated he simply lost control. He was arrested and charged with driving or operating under the influence of drugs or liquor and negligent driving. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance with a Feb. 6 court date at Jaffrey District Court.
Accident: At 9:53 p.m., police received a call from Joseph Fragala, 24, of New Ipswich stating that his 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck went off the road on Turnpike Road near Millipore. Police checked the area and found it was barely off the road and called for a tow truck to remove it.
Monday, Jan. 27
Indictment: At 9:30 a.m., Ashley Rickey-Hale, 25, of Jaffrey was indicted by Cheshire County Grand Jury for the offense of habitual offender as the result of an arrest on Nov. 16, 2013, by Jaffrey police.
