Contra dance and corned beef, Saturday
The Second Saturday Contra Dance will be held at the Nelson Town Hall on Saturday beginning at 8 p.m.
The caller will be Luke Donforth with music provided by Celticladda.
Donforth is an emerging choreographer of new dances, and draws on the wealth of dances and dance traditions from everywhere he travels.
Celticladda performs tunes from the Irish, Scottish and New England music traditions. Based in New Hampshire, Celticladda consists of Randy Miller, fiddle, Bill Thomas, flute and Uilleann pipes, and Gordon Peery, piano.
A short workshop will be held before the dance. Beginners and singles are welcome.
Admission is $8 or $6 for students and seniors.
The Nelson Community Church will offer a corned beef and cabbage supper from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost for the dinner is $9 for adults and $6 for children under 10.
