Let’s work together in Antrim
To the editor:
I am a candidate for re-election to the Select Board in Antrim.
Antrim, like many rural communities, has one or more important decisions to make next week. Key decisions in Antrim include electing a selectman, two Planning Board members, and voting on Article No. 5, the wind amendment to our zoning ordinance.
It is critical that we elect those people most experienced and suited for the office they seek. These candidates have the people their decisions will affect in their hearts. They will work together for the best interests of all. The environment that exists surrounding the petitioned wind ordinance is inexcusable. Bullying, accusations of unreasonable actions of officials, and on and on are childlike. Rather we must work together to restore sanity to our community.
Those who criticize the petitioners of Article No. 5 and Antrim Wind indicate the Planning Board should have proposed the amendment. However, they chose not to, knowing full well Antrim Wind was not going away. These residents decided to prepare when the elected Planning Board took no action. Let’s be prepared for our future. Let’s become Antrim again.
