Fischer for Select Board in Wilton
To the Editor
I am running for selectman for Wilton and would like to let you know a little bit more about me. One of four children of an Army veteran, I learned early the need for order in one’s life, the meaning of leadership and the capacity of self reliance. After high school, I put myself though college in Boston at Wentworth Institute of Technology. While there, I took part in the Cooperative Education program where Wentworth teams with local businesses provided students real world experiences as part of their curriculum.
In 1985, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering and immediately started my professional career. Throughout my career I have always worked hard and looked forward. Educating and building younger staff and moving them forward as future leaders has been a hallmark of my professional life. My career has afforded me many unique opportunities in regards to leadership, organization, business, relationships and growth. Through all of my experiences I have maintained my core leadership ideas — to listen to the people you are teaming with and come to decisions together. I believe you need to ask many probing questions and offer equally as many suggestions in order to retain constant relevance in your environment.
New England has always been my home, and I consider myself a true “New Englander.” I love the seasons, the outdoors, and the history of the region. This love and a desire for a simpler way of life brought my husband and me to Wilton 16 years ago.
I urge you all to go out next Tuesday and vote.
