PETERBOROUGH — A husband and wife from Peterborough were taken to Monadnock Community Hospital for treatment after an accident on East Mountain Road early Thursday afternoon.

According to Peterborough police, Luis Aguilera, 66, of Peterborough, driving a 2012 Toyota Camry, pulled out from a driveway on Mountain Road, and his car was hit by a 2007 Volvo station wagon driven by John Ramsay Thomas, 54, of Peterborough.

Aguilera and his wife, Ava Aguilera, 67, of Peterborough, who was a passenger in the Camry, were taken by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital. They were treated and released, according to hospital officials.

Police said all three people were wearing seatbelts.

The airbag in Thomas’s car deployed, and he was not injured.

“I’m shaken, but I’m fine,” he said at the scene. A dog riding in the back of Thomas’s station wagon was not hurt.

Thomas’s vehicle had moderate damage to the passenger front bumper. The Aguileras’s car had moderate damage to the driver’s-side front fender and wheel. Both cars were towed.
