Donation of books makes difference

To the editor:

If you were anywhere near the Summit Road entrance to the C&S facility in west Keene on April 11, you witnessed firsthand how much fun we had when we picked up the 800 books C&S Wholesale Grocers donated to our America Reads program through First Books!

Monadnock RSVP staff picked up cases of age-appropriate books to pass along to our wonderful America Reads volunteers for distribution to children in kindergarten through third grade throughout the community via their local classrooms. We have a “book fair” planned for our volunteers today and Friday where they will come to our office and choose the books they want to give to the students they work with.

We are beyond grateful to C&S for their generosity and caring in support of this project. Thank you from all of us here at Monadnock RSVP Volunteer Center, our America Reads volunteers and the children who will benefit from your amazing gift!

Monadnock RSVP Volunteer Center is a program of Monadnock Family Services, a Monadnock United Way agency.
