Farm-to-table supper features locally grown menu
The Peterborough Agricultural Commission will hold its June farm supper, the first of the 2014 season, on June 28 at Four Winds Farm at 6 p.m.
The supper will begin with a spring fruit and mint spritzer served with herb pancakes that are seasoned with maldon sea salt, black sesame and Ume Plum Pickles. Next, a salad of spring lettuces will be served with a smoky sundried tomato vinaigrette, Hancock chevre and roasted pepitas.
The main course will include buttermilk-brined chicken with wood fire grilled greens, roasted chickpeas and cous cous, harissa. The meal will conclude with a lemon flan tart, served with rhubarb coulis and local honey.
Tickets to the supper cost $40 (cash only) and are available at Rosaly’s Garden and Farmstand and Steele’s Stationers in Peterborough. Diners are asked to bring their own beverages.

The purpose of the Agricultural Commission is to protect agricultural lands, preserve rural character, provide a voice for farmers, encourage agricultural-based businesses and activities, and provide educational opportunities for home gardeners.
