Graduate reflections

To the editor:

This month, the entire artistic community and all those who enjoy the arts across the Monadnock region and the state of New Hampshire will bid farewell to a true treasure: Lynn Martin Graton is retiring as the acting director of the N.H. Division of the Arts. During her 16 year tenure with the Arts Council — first focusing on Folk Arts and for the last four years as acting director — Lynn has worked tirelessly to cultivate and enhance the arts in New Hampshire.

Many individual artists and arts organizations in the Monadnock region have experienced Lynn’s wisdom and enthusiasm firsthand, and she will indeed be sorely missed.

As we say thank you to Lynn for all her work on behalf of the arts in New Hampshire, we also welcome our new director, Virginia Lupi, who most recently was executive director of the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes in Corning, N.Y. We all wish Lynn great success as she tackles her next challenge!

Jackie Kahle

Vice-Chair, N.H. State Council on the Arts
