Patriotic theme for July library art exhibit

The art display at the Peterborough Town Library has a patriotic theme for the month of July.

Coordinated by artist Carolyn Carter, the exhibit was inspired by the Constitution bicentennial featured in “Modern Maturity,” published by AARP, and the Bill of Rights in a special issue of LIFE magazine prominently displaying 10 amendments and much more.

The Declaration of Independence is displayed above the guest book. In the Art Corner, the celebration begins wtih the first Net Technique painting of “Washington at Monmouth Battle — 1778” with “Mad” Anthony Wayne by Carolyn Carter, and ending with an award-winning photograph entitled “20th Fireworks Jaffrey” by Chuck Bruce, photographer.

In the showcase is featured the story of George and Martha Washington with anecdotes and memorabilia.

The displays are on view through July during library hours.
