Old-time children’s games July 31
Old- Time Children’s Games in the Garden will be held at the Horatio Colony House Museum on July 31, from 2 to 4 p.m.
The programs will provide reproductions of 19th century games including rolling hoops, croquet, game of graces, jump rope, bilbo catchers, jacks, marbles, and stick & ball. This program is open to the public free of charge and is a family-friendly event.
The games will be set up for children to play on the museum lawn. Therefore, the program is weather dependent. If rain is in the forecast, please call the museum at 352-0460 to ensure the program is still scheduled.
The museum, a stately Federal-style house, was Horatio Colony’s family home for three generations. This old-time New England home is filled with original family furnishings and historic collections, which offer a gracious view of a vanishing lifestyle of culture, refinement and travel.
The museum is open for tours through Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays.
There is no admission fee. Visitors can park in Saint Bernard’s lot next door to the museum.
