Film, experiments at the library

The final film in the summer film series for children will be Disney’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” screening Tuesday, July 29, at 1:30 p.m. at the Jaffrey Public Library.

All ages are invited to come watch this family adventure film, which is based on the book by Jules Verne. The program is free of charge and no registration is required. Juice and popcorn will be served.

At 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, the inrepid Children’s Room staff will present “Recipes for Disaster,” a program that explores chemical reactions through demonstrations and hands-on activities. Ages 5 and up are invited to come to this science program. Registration is required.

Both programs are part of the library’s 2014 Summer Reading Program, FIZZ, BOOM, READ!

To register for “Recipes for Disaster” or for more information, call the Children’s Room at 532-7301.
