Chris’ Concert benefits Grapevine
To the editor:
A belated but heartfelt thank you to the good folks who organized, promoted, and played at the 2014 Chris’ Concert to benefit The Grapevine in memory of Christine Patten.
The June 28 show, featuring The Installers, raised $2,200 to support Grapevine programs for children and families. Chris’ Concert organizers Cheryl Barlow, Doug Aborn, Sue Durling, Denise Barlow, Tom Griggs and Rick Fitzgerald have volunteered their time and talents for the past three years, and without them there would be no show.
This year, we also have the following generous folks to thank: Scott “Snake” Miller and The Helljacks-Scott Miller, Steve Barlow and Mike Goyette donated their fee for playing music; Carroll Hazen of Angelino’s donated his time to create an hors d’ouevres buffet; American Legion Post 59, Hillsborough waived half the hall rental cost and threw in bartenders and a door person at no cost; Premier Printing gave a great deal on printing tickets and posters; 92.5 The River aired Public Service Announcements and donated concert tickets; and Alyssa Fogarty, graphic designer, designed the logo and look for posters and tickets.
Finally, we are grateful to Chris’ parents, Roland and Marcia Patten, for supporting this contribution to The Grapevine in their daughter’s memory, a tribute to Chris and her work with children and families.
We look forward to Chris’ Concert 2015!
