Thursday, July 24

Accident: At 8:18 p.m., Joseph Edwards, 18, of Antrim was driving a 2009 Subaru on Route 202 north when he hit a deer that ran out in from of him. The collision damaged the roof and windshield of the car. Edwards was not injured. The deer was killed.

Saturday, July 26

Criminal mischief: At 11:20 a.m., a Norway Hill Road resident reported that someone had driven through the flowerbed at the intersection of Concord Road and Norway Hill Road. An officer found a single track through the flowers.

Assist: At 9:54 p.m., an officer assisted Greenfield police with transporting an intoxicated man to the Greenfield police station and assisted in fingerprinting two people.

Sunday, July 27

Animal report: At 5:58 p.m., a Bennington Rd resident reported that a fawn had been in the woods crying since the previous evening. An officer found the deer lying against a log and advised the resident not to touch the deer. Fish and Game was contacted.

Criminal mischief: A 6:50 p.m., a Bennington Road resident reported that someone had vandalized a field. There were large ruts and circles left in the yard from a vehicle.

Wednesday, July 30

Fire call: At 1:10 p.m., an officer responded to a Middle Road residence to assist the Fire Department. The resident reported having issues with a stove, which had caught on fire and scorched the wall. Firefighters arrived and conducted a further investigation.

Friday, Aug. 1

Tree on wires: At 7:50 a.m., PSNH was called after a tree branch fell on phone lines on Forest Road.

Saturday, Aug. 2

Assist: At 2 p.m., an officer responded to Route 9 in Stoddard to assist with a fatal motor vehicle accident. The officer rerouted traffic through Hancock.

Sunday, Aug. 3

Arrest: At 10:39 p.m., Caleb Czekalski, 19, of Jaffrey was taken into custody after a short pursuit on Concord Road. He was charged with disobeying an officer, reckless operation, and driving an uninspected vehicle. His vehicle was towed and Czekalski was taken to the Hancock police station. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a court date of Sept. 2 in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.

Thursday, Aug. 4

Animal complaint: At 9:35 a.m., a Juniper Circle Road resident reported that guinea hens kept coming onto her property. An officer went to Prospect Hill and spoke with another resident about the guinea hens.

Thursday, Aug.7

Dog bite: At 8:34 a.m., a nurse from Monadnock Community Hospital reported that a person had been bitten by a dog while running on Old Hancock Road and had been taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
