‘Dragon Tale’ on stage Friday, Saturday

Summer Theater Camp will present a production of “Dragon Tale” at the Union Congregational Church with performances on Friday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 16.

For the past 12 years, Union Congregational Church has sponsored a two-week musical summer theater camp for children in grades 1-5, providing them an opportunity to sing, dance, act and learn theater skills in a welcoming environment.

The plot of this year’s musical production, “Dragon Tale” by John Carter and Mary Kay Beall, involves an evil dragon, Scumme, who is terrorizing the town of Wantley Wood. The king in desperation, has decided to offer the hand of his daughter, the Princess Rosebud, to any brave knight who can conquer the dragon. The story itself is a spoof on a very traditional fairy tale.

Performances will be on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. There is no admission fee, however donations are gratefully accepted.
