Scott Brown has got it wrong

To the editor:

After receiving several Scott Brown mailings blaming Jeanne Shaheen for the limited hospital networks under Obamacare, I have looked into the facts of the case. In fact, the limited networks are due to Anthem Blue Cross, which is the only insurance company currently available under Obamacare (Affordable Care Act). Next year we expect to have five insurance companies working under Obamacare in New Hampshire, with a larger choice of hospitals, and at least one company network which will include Monadnock Community Hospital. This is common knowledge, but nowhere in his mailing does Scott Brown say so.

If the GOP gets Brown into the Senate, they’ll continue trying to make it harder for people to get health insurance. Obamacare rules keep insurance companies from discriminating against women. Obamacare rules do not allow insurance companies to deny coverage if you have a pre-existing condition or to drop people who get really sick. Scott Brown’s lies and half truths do not belong here. The limited networks are not due to Senator Jeanne Shaheen. She has served us well and deserves to be re-elected.
